One level compact mile filled with all your favourite high street stores, fashion chains, booksellers, music shops and stationers. House of Fraser, Office shoe shop, Lush for delicious smelling handmade soaps, H&M, banks and building societies are all here.
Just off High Street is the Guildhall Shopping Centre - see map below. Mostly undercover, there's everything from a spacious Primark and Argos, to independents Eden Spa and Exeter Rare Books. Refresh yourself for more shopping at the Vive juice and smoothie bar or try a traditional Devon pasty at the Oggy Oggy Pasty Co.
This is a modern centre with traditional architecture with the Queen Street arcade designed by Charles Fowler, who also designed London's Covent Garden. This is the only shopping centre in the world to boast a 12th century church at its heart.
Nearby you'll find Harlequins Shopping Centre which is completely undercover and full of great individual retailers and some household names. With over 20 shops, there's everything from interiors to fashion and hairdressers to accessories - as well as two cafes serving great local produce. A friendly place to relax, shop and find something that little bit different.
Places of interest:
These include the 12th century Guildhall, one of the oldest working municipal buildings in England. The narrowest street in Europe - Parliament Street and the intriguing Riddle sculpture.
