The landscape of Exeter & Essential Devon is made up of lush countryside, rich farmland and miles of coastline, so the quality of the food and drink which is produced here is first class.

 

Jurassic Coast

The region is home to many award winning restaurants, who are proud to serve local and seasonal produce on their menus.

Yearlstone VineyardDevon's mild and sunny climate means its south facing slopes are ideal for growing grapes and there are several vineayrds in the area which offer tours and wine tasting events. More than a dozen vineyards in the county will be taking part in Devon Wine Week this May which celebrates the wine of the region through special tastings and vineyard tours.

Exeter & Essential Devon's regular farmers markets are an ideal place to sample and buy delicious Devon food and drink direct from the producers.

Exeter Food & Drink Festival, Michael CainesExeter also plays host to the annual Festival of South West Food & Drink. Now in its sixth year, this regional food festival has a packed line up of demonstrations from the region's top chefs and over 100 regional producers offering high quality local food and drink. The region hosts a variety of other food and drink events throughout the year.

In the most recent Taste of the West Awards there were no less than six winners from Exeter & Essential Devon, including Quicke's Traditional in the dairy category, and Darts Farm near Topsham for SW Local Retail Outlet of the Year. The Jack in the Green Restaurant won SW Restaurant of the Year.
